Playing Catch Up!

I have had several photo shoots lately that I haven't posted here so I am trying to catch up and get this blog up to date.  When we took these pictures it was pretty cold outside.  The kiddos were awesome and such troopers - getting warm under a blanket in between pictures.  It was worth it though because we got some great pictures!

Can't wait to show you the rest!!

One Of My Favorites

I think this has to be one of my favorite photo shoots of all time. This family is special. They love each other so much it shines through the camera. That's not easy to do folks! I had a hard time picking a few favorites from the shoot, so I probably posted way too many. Enjoy!

I have many, many more to show you!

We Interrupt These Photo Shoots...

I have some more photo shoots to post, but I am taking a break from family shoots(for a minute) to show you this:

This is a book cover I designed for the fabulous Maureen Mullis.  I love it when I get the chance to use Photoshop for things besides editing pictures.  I think the cover turned out great, and I am so excited to read the book!!  Here is a synopsis of her book:

In 1902 Aalborg, Denmark, life is hard for the Pederson family. Eight-year-old Jens has started working to help his mother and his older brothers and sister provide for their family. With angry adults around him, a bully at school out to get him, and his teacher assigning a dreaded essay, Jens has far too much to worry about.

But Christmas is fast approaching. With their meager earnings, the Pederson family begins preparations for the Christmas feast. Learning the true meaning of faith and hope as he helps with the plans, Jens has but one wish: to make this holiday the best one ever for his family. A Christmas to remember.

Maureen is a fantastic writer who has a knack for writing about people and their relationships. She really has a way of bringing characters to life and getting the reader to have a vested interest in how the story turns out.  Her talent is awe inspiring to me, and I love to read her work. She has published four books to date and is always writing wonderful short stories on her blog.  You can visit her website at http://maureenmullis.blogspot.com/, and her books are available on Smashwords, Amazon, and Barnes and Noble.  I highly recommend her work, and I think this book is the perfect way to start the holiday season.  Go download it today!

You, Me, and Baby Makes Three

OH. MY. GOODNESS!  Talk about the cutest family EVER!!  This family was super fun to take pictures of, even if "Orrin Muffintop" wouldn't smile a whole lot.  The weather was beautiful, the family is beautiful, and the scenery was beautiful.  What more can you ask for (besides a few more smiles from baby!)?  Here are a few from the shoot:

Enjoy!!

Down to the Wire Senior Shoot

This Senior shoot really went down to the wire as pictures are due on Friday!!  I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this shoot.  It's always nice to take a picture of someone who stays where you place them, and doesn't need a "song and a dance" behind the camera to smile.  And, it helps that she is GORGEOUS (makes editing pictures a breeze)!  Here's a few from today:

I hope you enjoy the pictures, and have a great Senior year!

Double Trouble

If taking pictures of one family is hard, then taking pictures of two families is double trouble!!  We went out with our friends for a double photo shoot.  I would take a picture of their family, and then set up the shot for our family and my friend would "click the button" and make a lot of noise so my daughter would look at her. She even held reflectors for me - I think I'll hire her!! =)  It sure made it a lot easier for me - usually I take our pictures with a tripod and remote.  Here are a few from the shoot.

We were at a new location. What do you think of the scenery??  I think I love it, but I need to go back and explore and experiment some more.

First Fall Session

I love when the leaves start changing for Fall.  They provide such a beautiful backdrop for family pictures.  I had such a fun time with this family tonight.  They were so photogenic and so fun, as you'll see from the pictures.  Though it threatened to rain on us and it was cloudy, we still had a good session.  Enjoy the pictures!!

I learned how to put a vintage wash on pictures.  What do you think?  Like it?  Don't like it?

I love Fall in the Springs.

So Stinkin Cute!

This little guy turned 1 year old today, and I got to take pictures of him on his actual birthday!!  He was so stinkin cute, I just wanted to smooch him.  Actually he did give me a smooch at the end.  What a sweet heart!

Look at that face!!  Doesn't it make you melt????

He was giving his balloon a kiss!

Out comes the cake!!

He dug right it and thought the candle tasted good too!

Happy Birthday little one!  I can't believe this year has gone by sooooo fast.
